French army officer, Henri Rochard, is on a postwar mission to Germany with American WAC lieutenant Catherine Gates. Eventually they fall in love and decide to marry. But Catherine is ordered home and they have to find a way for Henri to enter the United States - the only solution looks like he has to become a sister WAC.
