Once Were Warriors

A powerful and disturbing story of a Maori family in New Zealand. Beth Heke is a beautiful mother of five who is still in love with her husband after eighteen years of a volatile marriage. Beth is a survivor, although she is beginning to lose the daily battles with forces outside her home which threaten their survival. One of her sons has joined a gang and another is in a home for delinquents but her daughter Grace, has been blessed with special gifts. But what happens to Grace changes all their lives.
