Son's Room

A heart-rending portrayal of a family touched by the loss of a loved one. The Sons Room is a poignant and emotional study of Psychiatrist Giovanni, his wife Paola and their teenage children Irene and son Andrea. Set in an idyllic small Italian town, life for everyone suddenly changes when Giovanni is forced to break a promise to go jogging with his son following an urgent call from a patient. Andrea goes diving with his friends instead, with tragic consequences, and his beloved family are plunged into grief. Believing that he could have averted the tragedy if he had kept his promise to his son, Giovanni is wracked with guilt. He is distraught, and, losing the ability to treat the mental suffering of his patients he throws himself into bursts of activity. Paola meanwhile, takes comfort in the contents of a letter written to Andrea by his girlfriend that arrives after his death?.
