Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence

In 1942 British soldier Jack Celliers is confined in a Japanese Prisoner of War camp. The camp is run by the cruel and sadistic Yonoi who believes that everyone should be prepared to give their life for their country. In his view all the prisoners are cowards. When John Lawrence tries to explain Yonoi's way of thinking, the rest of the prisoners believe him to be a traitor.
